Google.org, the philanthropic department, has decided to fund the development of a hundred mile per gallon car. The project rechargeit.org will focus on plug-in hybrids and V2G or vehicle to grid technology. The technology is really incredible. It gathers energy when its plugged in, as well as during driving. And the best part about it is, the excess energy is given back to the grid.
